Description

:iconwyngro:

----------------------------------

Name: Willow

Hatched: 1/1/2017

Biological Sex: Female

Type: Standard

Creation: Purchased Wyngro (Raffle)

Hatch Location:
The Nook

Currently Lives: At the Nook.  Has no current roommates to mention.

Personality: Where as most wyngro can be found active in the day, Willow has adopted a more nocturnal lifestyle.  She may often be found nestled away in the darkest corners of the Nook during normal hours (to sleep, of course), making her an increasingly illusive Gro.  When night arrives, she will stalk the halls with her eyes agleam and ever searching for what she calls "the strange blue glow".  Willow often talks about seeing things that her peers can't and insists that she can hear whispers.  Because of this strange behavior (and her glowing eyes) others have taken to avoiding her, making minimal contact if possible.  Despite this, Willow has still proven to be a cheerful and generous soul; she rarely will hold a grudge and is often quite understanding of others.  Finally, she is very ticklish especially around her magic glands.

Note: Though the eye glow is often voluntary, it may flare on it's own when
Willow is experiencing intense emotions.  This can range from embarrassment, to fear and even a large bounty of laughter.

History

(I would like to give a big "Thank You" To EmiBird for helping me out with her little backstory!)

The origin of
Willow's egg can be considered grim at best.  Her mother was found deep in the woods, mottled with blood and riddled with scars and bruises.  Her eyes were turned skyward, heart silenced and her paws rested over her stomach.  The group that had found the small tragedy realized that an egg was nestled within her pouch-- she was a mother but was now long gone.

Concerned for the egg's survival, the party buried the body and took their find to the Nook. As the days trudged on, hope waned and the future of the egg seemed more and more out of reach.

A week later Alma rested in a chair late at night, cradling the egg and humming a broken tune.  She was torn, unwilling to give up, yet burdened by a heavy heart that whispered reason into her ear.  She wasn't ready but she knew she had to let go.  Just as she prepared to call the time, the clock struck twelve and the grandfather clock awoke.  With it's first chime, a dim glow grew from the crown of spots that encircled the egg.  Alma, overtaken by surprise, rubbed her eyes with disbelief as the scene continued to play on.  The second chime resonated through the household and it glowed again, this time stronger.  With each chime, each glow grew warmer and brighter.  The light cast from the egg enveloped the Wyngro in a soft, yet loving veil that whispered with life.  Alma's cheeks flushed and her eyes watered as joy overcame her heart and quaked her soul.

The egg survived.

The next day Alma placed the egg up for adoption.  Though it was displayed for all to see, Wyngro paid it no heed and treated it almost as if it was invisible.  Alma tried to show the egg to others but they often felt deterred and would dismiss themselves to go and look at other orphans.  For some reason no one seemed willing to give it the time of day.  As she looked over to the egg she suddenly realized that there was a pale biped standing in front of it.  Alma perked up and began to engage the stranger with conversation but to no avail.  The Gro did not respond nor look at the caretaker as it placed it's paw over the green egg.  It responded in kind with a pulsing light and a sudden chill rolled on past on through the room.  Just as Alma was about to step closer the pale biped turned to look at the caretaker.  Their eyes glowed bright like two blue wisps and a gentle, yet pained smile was cast upon her maw.   Alma froze in place, limbs glued to the floor and fur pricked with a frightened sensation.   The stranger watched with an unwavering gaze and began to speak.  There were no words that came, no sound nor utterance that could be summoned.  Instead, the simple motions of 'Thank you' could be seen.  Alma looked perplexed, uncertain and uncomfortable.  She took a quick glance around the room hoping to see if any others had been watching and when she turned back the wyngro was gone.  The chill subsided and the fear that so gripped the Gro dispelled, leaving her shaken, yet relieved.  The egg sat silently with it's gentle glow, then it began to entirely pulse with life.  It was going to hatch, soon.

No other Gro could confirm the figure that Alma had seen-- only the chill-- and the egg remained untouched.

It was later that day, at exactly midnight on the new year that the egg hatched.  Out came a small green Wyngling with a strange coloration and pale green eyes that glowed with a force akin to that of a spirit.  Her name was
Willow.

Willow began her life fairly normal.  She played just like any other Wyngling and acted quite reasonably for her age but as the residents got to know her, it became apparent that something was off.  There were times when she would sit and talk to nothing or acknowledge something or... someone.  Though genuinely friendly, she often would scare other Wynglings with phrases such as "careful, there's a white hand on your shoulder" or "Oh, please don't block their view!"  Because of her creepy comments and unusual glowing eyes, others started to avoid little Willow and spread rumors that dramatized her unsettling behavior.  As she became more and more ostracized Willow decided to change her routine so that she wouldn't bother the others.  She turned to a more nocturnal life style, sleeping in the day and wandering at night.

Okay.. I give up.  There's more I wanted to add about "the strange blue glow" and the "dark twisting creatures" but I'm just having so much trouble writing tonight.  Ah, well.  XD  Sorry for the choppy writing!  If you've gotten this far, thanks so much for reading all of that.
